Spring 2023 Theatre Session

This will be an opportunity for students, ages 14 - 18, to participate in classes that focus on theatre techniques: acting, singing and choreography. Our semester will end in a showcase performance where students will present what they have learned. We look forward to highlighting students through individual, small and large group presentations.

Class Specifics

  • Class Times and Dates

    Cantabo! Classes will be twice a week for two hours each (Tentative class days are Monday and Thursday). Classes will begin in the end of January and run through the end of April.

  • Broadway Survey Ensemble

    This portion of the class focuses on music and choreography. Students will get the opportunity to perform selections from some of Broadways classic and most loved shows. The performance will include selections from Wicked, Les Miserables, and many more!

  • Introduction to Theatre

    This portion of the class will focus on theatre techniques and genres. The curriculum will include acting, improvisation, script analysis, theatre design (Costume, set, makeup), and so much more!

  • End of Semester Showcase

    At the end of the semester, students will get to show off what they’ve learned in a performance showcase. They will not only perform musical selections from the Broadway Ensemble, but will perform monologues, fight scenes and other content learned in Introduction to theatre. Family and friends will also get to see student designs on display before and after the show!

Who Can Participate?

Classes are open to high schoolers 14 - 19 years old. Cantabo! has opened our program to all students including home school, public and private schoolers.
