REHEARSAL INFORMATION

Rehearsal is where our shows come to life. Students get the opportunity to explore the story and their characters with the guidance of our director team. Please take the time to read below all about our rehearsal process, schedule, and expectations. If you have any questions regarding rehearsal you can submit an inquiry below!

Rehearsal Dates and Times!

  • Mondays & Thursdays: Rehearsal will be at Destiny Church in Broken Arrow.

    Saturdays: Rehearsal will be at The Calling Dance Academy on Mingo Rd.

  • Rehearsal begins on Thursday, August 15th.

  • Rehearsal Days: Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays (by call*).

    Rehearsal Times: Mondays and Thursdays from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

    *Not all cast members are required to attend these rehearsals. We will specify who is required to attend one week in advance.

  • Our Senior cast is required to attend all Monday and Thursday rehearsals and Saturday rehearsals by call.

    Students are expected to attend EVERY rehearsal with limited exceptions.

Attendance Policy and Dress Code!

  • ALL students are required to attend rehearsal when called - See above for rehearsal commitment.

    • Students are allowed 2 excused absences and 2 unexcused absences during the show season.

      Excused Absence: The director team has been notified on the ‘conflict form’ or at least 3 days in advance.

      Unexcused Absence: Student fails to notify the director team at least 3 days in advance. These absences are granted form emergencies, sickness, etc.

    • Students are NOT permitted to leave rehearsal early except in cases of emergency or the directors have been notified by the parent in advance!

    • All students are required to be at all Tech Week rehearsals for the full duration of the rehearsals - NO EXCEPTIONS! (November 18th - 21st)

    *If a student’s attendance does not meet these requirements the director team has the right to recast that student’s role or in extreme cases the student may not be permitted to perform.

  • Yes! CCMT requires ‘Rehearsal Wear.’ Rehearsal wear is important to create cohesion amongst the cast, it creates a mindset that we are here to work, it eliminates the possibility of not being able to perform what is asked because of unfit clothing choices, it removes peer pressure and prepares students for the real world.

    Girls:

    • Black, pink, white or gray t-shirts (no mid-drifts showing when standing with hands above the head and no cleavage showing)

    • Or Previous CCMT show shirt

    • Black character skirt

    • Black leggings

    • Black dance shoes (type will be specified by role)

    • Hair pulled up and out of students face

    *Students will not be allowed to rehearse without their rehearsal wear.

Student Behaviors and Expectations!

  • All students will be asked to read and sign a Code of Conduct on the first day of rehearsal. Below is an outline of our expectations:

    1. Students will meet attendance requirements

    2. Students will respect the dress code

    3. Students will learns their lines , choreography and music in a timely manner

    4. Students will not have their cellphones out during rehearsal

    5. Students will be respectful of directors and others

    6. Students dating relationships are between them and their families. No PDA at rehearsal.
